Currently, the scientific potential of the faculty is 45%. At the department operate three doctors and professors, 14 candidates, including three university professors, 5 associate professors, 6 Acting associate professors, one associate professor of the University, 8 senior teachers and 12 teachers.
The Pedagogics faculty has been generated in 1999. A direction of Defectology was a part of faculty 2016, now it is called as faculty of Pedagogy. Since September 2017, the dean of the faculty, candidate of pedagogical sciences L.Sh. Nurmuhammedova works.

The Faculty of History of the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami has been working since its inception in 1935. The Faculty in initial period was consisted of 23 students and was headed by professor VI Krasovsev.
Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami from the academic year 1959-1960 on the basis of the faculty of physics and mathematics and technical sciences began to prepare teachers for vocational specialties.
